Similar to Indian curries, Balti dishes typically include marinated meats, vegetables and spices. The food is cooked and served in the wok-like bowl, and then brought to the table to share. Wok-like for 2

I purchased this pot for small batch chili or curries and discovered it is great for a quick stir-fry. When I am tired and I don't feel like cooking, I cheat with seafood/chicken/beef, pre-cut veggies, frozen rice and sauce from a jar. The reason this pan is better than a typical fry pan is the bowl shape which makes it almost wok-like. I use very little oil and my food doesn't stick. On a good night, I can get dinner on the table in 15 min. And clean up is fast too. The only complaint is: I wish it had a top - not because I need it for cooking, but so that I can keep the food covered on the dinner table. The pot retains the heat, but we have a cat and I don't trust him, especially when shrimp is on the menu.

Love this for stir fries and clay pot dishes

I have 26 Le Creuset pots and pans (cast/stainless at 2 homes) and love/use them all. I always wanted the larger wok but space became an issue. So, I bought this instead and it was an instant hit for veggie stir fries and clay pot dishes. I love the rounded shape and height for easy stirring (ditto for the stainless sauciers); and, the comfy handles make it easy to clean and air dry. It doesn't come with a lid (which I need for one pot rice/chicken Asian dishes), but I just discovered/ordered the 9.5" glass lid). In the meantime, I've been using a silicone lid.

Damaged, still not refunded

La Creuset has the absolute worst Customer service in the world. I own over $8,000 worth and I will never buy from them again after my last purchase. This balti had a big chip on the bottom of it and was sent out to me. I sent it back almost a month ago and I'm still not refunded for it. These people are crooks. Also why are they sending out damage products. I also ordered the apple tartan dish and that was chipped as well. The free gift never even showed up. This company is a joke.

Wok replacement for induction cooktop - works great

When we go an induction cooktop last year, we couldn't easily use our old wok that we used on the old gas range. I found some adapters but they just didn't look like they would do much good. Saw this awesome piece on the Le Creuset site - and on sale at a cheaper price than anywhere else! - and we have been using it as a wok and love it! There are only two of us, so this may be small for a larger family, but this works great for our purposes.

Awesome Product

Excellent product for many uses! This stays on the stove for near daily usage. This is deep enough for boiling a batch of pasta in the stovetop, and wide enough for baking two chicken breasts in the oven. It has quickly become a favorite new product I am extremely pleased with this purchase for its versatility and ease of cleaning! (not too big or heavy to hand wash in the sink)! It also has a cool looking shape / profile on the stove!

THE Pan

I was skeptical at first, a pan with no lid but soon found out it is the perfect pan for almost everything! I rarely take any of my stainless cookware out of the cabinet. I Loved it so much I bought a second one! I now have one in Oyster and one in flat Black. Found a bamboo lid thrifting that fits them if needed. Actually considering a third so when the time comes each of my children can inherit one!!
