A: hi there - I can answer. Every man made item off has off gas. I just purchased one the other day and it did not have a strong plastic smell. If it is vented for awhile you should be fine.

I like them. I ordered 4 more of them online because I had purchased them at Target last weekend. When I went to pick up the containers, there were only 2 lids. The representative told me they ran out of the lids. He offered to cancel the purchase if I wanted to, but I didn't want to do that. I'm going to find them at another Target.

Our go-to storage now. Holds a ton, and I love that the smaller version of these tubs sit perfectly in the divots on the lid. The basic, trim, blocky (rather than too rounded) shape fits easily and neatly on shelves and one next to the other. Love them, never had an issue with breakage.

Bought two and only kept one. My friend's son didn't care that the latch doesn't grip very well as he won't be opening and closing the bin. One latch would snap in but the other would slide off easily. The depression on the lid is too shallow and the lip on the latch is not long or deep enough to catch. I won't be buying this item again and will be checking the latches more closely on similar products to see if they keep this same design.
