Description

Switching to this model from Philips feels like a step down in quality and finishing touches. Yes it shaves, yes it cleans, yes of course there's an app for that, but I fear that this majority plastic device is going to wear out in 2-3 years. Plus, it's larger forcing me to remove other items from my travel bag.

It's easy to use, the lights help with how much pressure to apply, it's quiet, and easy to clean. I really like it for a fast close shave. I owned another brand for years (went through four braun shavers) and this is much better. I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE YEARS AGO!

    As a long standing, dedicated wet shaver, I decided to try a Philips rotary shaver. I had a bad experience many years ago when I tried a foil type shaver. It gave me dreadful razor burn. Not so with the Philips S9983/55. It gives a really close shave with no nasty razor burn. Battery life is really good too - I only charge it on average once a week, but that obviously depends upon the duration of each shave. The cleaning pod works really well, leaving fresh scent when the cycle is complete.

You have too much plastic around the heads cant get close to my nose. Also like the cleaner and charger on my old one. Another complaint is I cannot get new heads for my old shaver. I am getting very unhappy with your product.

It's quieter, glides over my skin more quickly and has a pleasantly scented lubricant that clings to the shaver heads during the cleaning process. The pop-out trimmer works well, and the shaver works better than the foil shaver in removing long hairs, and hair on the ears. The cleaning system is quick, quiet, doesn't take up a lot of space, and doesn't require that the shaver be plugged in, freeing an electrical outlet. The only disadvantage to this shaver, keeping me from giving it a 5-star rating, is that is doesn't produce quite as close a shave as my foil shaver.
