Q: How is this "mineral-based" if it contains one mineral but TWO chemical sunscreens (which aren't approved by the FDA)?
A: Hi there! Thanks for asking. We've updated the formula since this question was asked, and I'm happy to share we use Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide as active ingredients. Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide are two minerals that physically block and scatter the sun's harmful rays. Additionally, this sunscreen is FDA Registered. – Amber, babyganics Consumer Care

Q: What is the difference between mineral based and broad spectrum?
A: Thanks for reaching out. Mineral based means the sunscreen is formulated with mineral active ingredients (i.e. Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide). Broad Spectrum means an SPF blocks both UVA & UVB rays. This product is both mineral based and provides broad spectrum protection. – Amber, babyganics Consumer Care

Q: Is this sunscreen reef safe?
A: Yes! Our sunscreen is Reef-Friendly. The most current formula contains 5.0% Octisalate, 3.0% Titanium Dioxide and 6.0% Zinc Oxide as active ingredients. – Amber, babyganics Consumer Care
submitted byBabyganics Team - 5 years agoBrand expertA: The active ingredients are Zinc oxide 11.2%, Octinoxate 7.5%, Octisalate 5.0%. The octinoxate and octisalate are what you want to avoid. Oxybenzones are harmful, too. Try finding a sunscreen with mineral zinc oxide. Hope this helps!

Q: What is the recommended age?
A: Sunscreen is generally recommended for ages 6 months and higher. Babies younger than that should not be exposed to so much sun that they would need sunscreen, but if it can't be avoided, most doctors will say to use sunscreen in those limited instances.
