Zuzunaga Quaternio Blue Merino Wool Handwoven Throw

Sold Out

Style No. 63007538; Color Code:

Our now-classic Quaternio Blue throw is handwoven in Spain using a traditional wooden manual loom. In this ancient craft, time and space become intertwined to produce exceptional fabrics in the hands of expert craftspeople. We only use 100% eco-friendly merino wool. We trace the wool’s production process from farm to yarn, securing a top-quality raw material that, with just the right amount of washing, offers maximum warmth and is naturally dirt repellant. Soft and light, the look and texture of these throws improve over time. Moreover, they feature two special finishes: a fringed finish and a unique yellow band running across the width of the throw, and a green and white band running vertically. The Quaternio Blue throw is derived from Zuzunaga’s basic graphic signature and essence: boldness and joy of color. These throws are an evolution of the Squares throw as the design simplifies from 42 squares to just four, zooming inward in a deliberate effort to reduce the pattern to four color combinations. In doing so, they play with scale to center and refocus the viewer’s gaze.

London-based Catalan designer Cristian Zuzunaga is known for creating timeless and sustainable home and fashion textiles inspired by the psychology of color, architecture, and nature, embodying the synergy of opposing forces. Working at the intersection of art and design, Zuzunaga calls this usable or wearable art, using color to positively affect human emotion.
