The Graco® Extend2Fit® 3-in-1 Car Seat features a 4-position extension panel that provides up to 5” of extra rear-facing legroom, allowing your child to ride safely rear-facing longer. Children are safer riding rear-facing and should ride rear-facing as long as possible, until they reach the maximum rear-facing height or weight rating for their car seat. With Extend2Fit®, the adjustable extension panel and 50 lb rear-facing weight limit allow the seat to grow with your child in rear-facing mode, providing extended rear-facing use. This seat offers 3 modes of use to grow with your child from rear-facing harness (4-50 lb) to forward-facing harness (22-65 lb) to highback booster (40-100 lb). The seat features the No-Rethread Simply Safe Adjust™ Harness System, which allows you to adjust the height of the headrest and harness in one motion, and InRight™ LATCH for a one-second LATCH attachment. Harnessing is made easier with fuss-free harness storage pockets that conveniently hold the harness out of the way while you get baby in and out of the car seat.

  • A: It is not about the age, it is about the weight and height of the child, and if the shoulder belt sits correctly against their anatomy. If the child is 12 but only 40lbs and 40inches, they still need to be in a booster. Each state is different on exact laws, so please check with your pediatrician and state laws.

Extreme Comfort!

I’ve used Graco car seats for all three of my children, and I can’t express how impressed I am with their quality and products. My youngest child is currently in the 3-in-1 Extend2Fit Graco car seat, and it’s an absolute delight. The padded seat is incredibly comfortable, providing my baby with maximum comfort and security. The initial install is an absolute breeze! The overall durability seems to be high-quality and I will forever recommend Graco to all my mom friends!

Beware of Harness Release Design Flaw

2 out of 5 stars
hgurley6 - 21 days ago
originally posted on gracobaby.com
Installed this tonight and overall it seems like a quality product but there is a major design flaw with the harness release button on what seems to be select colors. Check the pictures and notice that the Target exclusive and purple versions feature a flap between the legs that exposes the harness release button. The Ashten and other color do not show that flap and I can confirm that there is none on the Ashten. You have to fit your finger through the slit that the belt to tighten the harness comes through. With the seat in rear facing mode, this slit is basically right against the seat and the button is back from the entrance of the slit about an inch or so. It’s very cumbersome to operate the switch without the flap to expose it and both my wife and I have smaller hands, too. We will consider buying this in a different color but we are returning this one. It’s extremely disappointing to have a different design between different colors of the same model.

The safest car seat due to rear facing duration

LaneyKate - 1 month ago
It is designed to keep the kiddo rear facing longer and with the new information about how much safer rear facing is, this was an answer to my worries. We have had it for a year and a half now, still in great shape, and my son loves it.

Safe, comfortable, and easy to install. This is the second Extend2Fit car seat we have purchased. Our first granddaughter is three and the seat has grown with her. Our second granddaughter just moved to this seat from her infant seat and likes it! So glad we bought them!

Seat feels great. Super challenging to install in a car. Since the seat is so big, tightening it down while facing backward is more than challenging. It’s painful.

Very difficult to install. Also leaves very little room for front seat. The plastic foot extender makes me nervous for if we were ever in an accident. Car seat feels flimsy to me. Thankfully It’s just going in our Nannie’s car as a backup but I probably would have gone with a different car seat had I known. definitely will be sticking with our Nuna for kid #2.

First time mom - 3 months ago, Verified purchaser
If I could give this 0 stars I would. We bought this as a secondary to be in another vehicle for grandparents or our other vehicle as needed. The install is AWFUL. It takes two people with significant strength to get it. Next the straps are unnecessarily hard to tighten and loosen for your child to get in and out. The button to release the straps is hidden beneath fabric. Save your money. Our Chicco one fit out performs this seat by a landslide.

It’s extremely heavy-not lightweight at all. The straps are hard to manage and the instructions are not straight to the point. Your paying for the appearance- only thing comfortable is the extend leg space

Not for road trippers or car nappers

lm330 - 5 months ago, Verified purchaser
Like many other reviewers, I have a few complaints about this car seat, otherwise it’s well made and seems safe and durable. We’ve been using it daily around town for a year now, but quickly had to buy a different seat for car #2 that we take on long car rides. This is because the head positioning is too forward (in rear facing recline positions 1 & 2). The sides are very high which makes it difficult to get my son in and out compared to our other seat. Also, the cup holders don’t fit any toddler cup or snack cup that we’ve owned and are difficult to reach for under 2. Last complaint, we’ve had a few carsick messes and this is so difficult to clean. That material is actually really nice, but gunk is still stuck in the creases after machine washing, stuff somehow gets behind the cover into every plastic crevice, and the straps never stop smelling like vomit no matter what I do. It’s also very difficult to tighten the latch strap, I dread taking it in and out of the car for clean ups. We purchased due to the higher weight limit for rear facing, but realistically will need to switch to forward facing well before hitting that limit so that’s no longer a benefit.

Just tested this seat out on a flight with a car seat cart and it worked out great! Easy to install in the car as well and clear instructions. Our little one was smiling and looked comfy. Only challenge on the flight is that I had to carry it over the seats, since it didn’t fit through the isle. Other than that, it’s a great seat for the price!

The car seat is great! I was surprised by how soft the material felt compared to my daughters infant car seat. She seems to like it and is comfortable in it. The only downfall I've had with it so far is it is a little hard to tighten/loosen the straps but overall the carseat is great and I recommend it.

The chest buckle is hard to unclip. The buckle by the legs has no padding so it presses directly onto legs. Otherwise I guess it’s okay, but I’m returning it due to these reasons. I want to be able to get my son out of the car as smooth as possible god forbid if something were to happen. Install was easy tho - leveling line was interesting not like I’m used too it was a range for under 3m and +3m
